     "Dark Times, Part III"

     Chapter XXVII
     "A Hero's Sacrifice"


     Ravage walked and walked down
the corridor.  He had been walking
for almost two hours.  Finally, he
turned a corner, and there it was,
the dead end.  Ravage turned around,
and headed back towards the door to
meet up with Bumblebee.  He hoped
that Bumblebee had accomplished their
mission.
     Ravage arrived back at the door
to the tunnel three hours and
fifty-seven minutes after he had left
Bumblebee, but Bumblebee wasn't their
yet.  Ravage waited, and a few
minutes later, Bumblebee came around
the corner.
     "Did you get it", asked Ravage
as Bumblebee walked up to him.
     "Yes, I got everything we need. 
We make a pretty good team Ravage."
     At that moment, a voice from
behind Bumblebee called out, "halt." 
Bumblebee turned around to see the
Xformer Storm coming towards him. 
She fired at them.
     "Ravage, look out", said
Bumblebee.  Bumblebee jumped in front
of Ravage, and took the full force of
the blast in the chest.  He slumped
down, falling through the whole
leading to the tunnel.  Ravage pushed
him through, and tried to pull
Bumblebee with him down the tunnel. 
They had only gone a few yards, when
the door started to open.  Ravage
turned and fired his missiles at the
ceiling, collapsing the cave.  He
pulled Bumblebee for about a quarter
mile.
     "Ravage wait", said Bumblebee
weakly.
     "What is it Bumblebee", asked
Ravage?
     "You'll never make it with me. 
I'm just slowing you down."
     "Nonsense.  We'll make it."
     "They'll catch us.  They'll dig
through that debris soon, and they'll
be on us in a flash.  Here, take the
data.  Get it back to Optimus.  I'll
hold them off."
     Ravage could not understand why
he was feeling this way over an
Autobot.  He didn't want to leave
him.  Bumblebee had saved his life. 
"Bumblebee, I can't just leave you."
     "You have to.  That data is too
important.  Now go.  I can hold them
off."  Bumblebee placed the data
device on Ravage's back, and Ravage
secured it with a force field.
     "How can you hold them off in
your condition."
     "Don't worry, about me, I have a
few tricks left up my sleeve. 
Ravage, give Optimus a message for
me.  Tell him I was wrong, and I'm
sorry."
     "Goodbye my friend", said
Ravage.  Bumblebee smiled.
     Ravage started to walk down the
tunnel, and looked back once.  He saw
Bumblebee pull out an energeon
grenade.  Ravage started running down
the tunnel.  Behind him, he heard the
Decepticons break through the debris,
and heard the Xformer Storm yell,
"this one's finished, get the other."
     Then he heard Bumblebee's voice. 
"I'm not quite finished Storm.  Till
all are one!"
     Then Ravage heard an explosion. 
A moment later, he heard only
silence.
     "You will be remembered with
honor Bumblebee."  Ravage proceeded
on, he had to get this data to
Optimus, or Bumblebee's sacrifice
would be in vain.
